第4回がんプロ国際シンポジウム参加報告

　平成28年2月27日，28日に開催された第4回国際シンポジウムに参加したので報告します．国際シンポジウムは，7大学連携先端的がん教育基盤創造プランの一環で開催され，5カ国（韓国，台湾，アメリカ，カナダ，日本）から医師，看護師，薬剤師，医学物理士などが参加していました．開催にあたり，近畿大学の中川教授は，英語が上手いかどうかは関係なく，議論することが重要であり，また国際的に人と人のつながりを拡げてコラボレーションしていくことが大切だと仰いました．中川教授のお言葉は，英語があまり得意ではない私にとって非常に勇気付けられるもので，とても印象的でした．発表では，メタボローム解析を用いて胃腸の放射線障害を評価するための新しい指標を発見したとの発表がありました．また，小腸の放射線障害は還元型コエンザイムQ10によって低減できる可能性があることを知り，大変驚きました．今後，そういった薬剤が作成されれば，腹部領域の放射線治療において，線量増加できたり，放射線障害をより少なく抑えることができたりすると思いました．
　発表者，質問者ともに流暢な英語で議論されており，私は内容を把握するので精一杯でしたが，英語のセッションならではの雰囲気を味わうことができて大変勉強になりました．また，普段はあまり聞く機会のない他分野の発表を聞くことができ，今後の研究に向けて良い刺激を受けました．
　今年は参加するだけで終わってしまいましたが，来年はぜひ発表してみたいと思います．
　最後になりましたが，このような有意義なシンポジウムを企画，運営された方，また私に参加する機会を与えていただいた皆様に感謝申し上げます．(K.K)

I report about the 4th International Symposium of Training Plan for Oncology Professionals that I participated. This symposium was held by 7-University Joint Project in Osaka on February 27-28th, and many investigators such as doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and medical physicists, participated from five countries (USA, Canada, Korea, Taiwan and Japan). In the opening speech, Prof. Nakagawa from Kinki University said that whether you speak English well or not does not matter, but discussion in English is more important. He also said that the international collaborative investigation with foreign investigators is important for all researchers. His speech was impressive and encouraged me because I am not good at English. I was impressed by a presentation. She showed that gastrointestinal disorders induced by radiation could be analyzed using the Metabolomics analysis. Also I was surprised by the report that the reduced form of Coenzyme Q10 was potent radioprotector. I thought that with the advent of such drugs, they increase the radiation dose and reduce the gastrointestinal disorders induced by radiotherapy in the abdominal area.
The presentation and the discussion were difficult for me, because the presenters and the questioners spoke English very fluently. But I enjoyed the atmosphere of the English session. In addition, I was glad to hear the presentations of other fields that I am not familiar with, and was inspired by them.
I’m going to make presentation and discuss at this symposium next year.
I am deeply grateful to the people who planned this symposium and gave me the opportunity to participate it.
